# Which Way It Blows > A thinking toy for everyday inventions. Name one invention, tool, service or habit - the leaf blower, the group chat, voice notes, the e-bike - pick a tone and write one to six notes on how it shows up in your life. One metered run reads its four winds: what it enhances, what it pushes aside, what older thing it brings back and what it flips into when pushed too far. Each wind quotes the note it blows from and gets a strength from 1 to 5; exactly one wind prevails. URL: https://which-way-it-blows.skillsafe.ai/ API: https://which-way-it-blows.skillsafe.ai/api.html ## What runs where - Free, in the browser: the weathervane drawing (four arms, plaques, strength pips, wind streaks, an arrow that points at the single strongest wind), your own hand-made reading of the four winds, the page's free read of your notes, and SVG, PNG, Markdown, CSV and JSON downloads. - Metered, one task (`vane`): the four winds read from your notes, each naming one thing with a headline, a short reading, the note it draws on, a word-for-word quote and a strength, plus the prevailing wind and a closing line. Runs on gpt-terra. - The page re-checks every reply: four winds in order, quotes word for word, strengths in range (a wind with no note behind it blows softly), exactly one wind at the top and a prevailing wind that matches the strengths. - Hand-offs: the "flips into" wind, or the older thing it "brings back", can be read next as a new thing, so readings chain. - Share: where the browser has a share sheet, the summary line and the page link go straight to it. ## Contract - Input (all strings): task (`vane`), thing, tone (`wry`, `warm`, `gleeful`), notes (`n | note` lines), page_facts, optional clip_note and retry_note. - Reply: one JSON object with status (`ok` or `declined`), reason, thing_label, winds (four, in the order enhances, obsolesces, retrieves, reverses), prevailing, prevailing_reason, closing. - Declined: people, animals, plants, weather and other nature, weapons and drugs. ## Sources - Built on the SkillSafe skill @jwynia/technology-impact: https://skillsafe.ai/skill/@jwynia/technology-impact (analysing what a technology does with the four-part tetrad of media effects). - Saved readings live in the person's own SkillSafe account only when they press save. This is a thinking toy for fun, not professional, technical or policy advice.
